... and what a season it's been. After 12 rallies and over 1500km, the fight for the SLORBR crown could not have been closer. Through the year the 3 drivers on top were battling all the time, but after 8th rally it seemed, that Simon Tomažič had a big enough lead, to coast to the finish and win the championship.

12 - SLORBR Rally

12_250The final round of the season is this weekend! Last rally Jurek charged past Simon to take a 2 point lead for the last event and is now looking to keep ahead and win the championship. Last year's winner David Kucera is seating comfortably in 3rd place. In divison 2 Adrian Klimas is well ahead of M-Sport competitors Boštjan Berglez and Miran Šmid, so only a disaster could steal his crown this year. A man, who has already won his trophy is Micael Eriksson in division 3. With only one rally to go, he has 29 points more than Jiri Fritensky. There is still battle for the last podium place in this division though. Tommie Lindberg is looking to score at least 6 more points than Piotr Malczewski to keep company to his winning his teammate.
For this last push, the weather seems to hold so dry gravel and tarmac stages are awaiting for drivers to blast through. Who will come on top and who will have to settle for best of the rest?
Note: the final rally starts tomorrow (April 11th at 10:00). The rest of the timetable stays the same.

Just 2 events to the end and after last round the top drivers are closer than ever. Jurek is just 5 points behind the championship leader Simon as we prepare for the 2 mixed surface rallies. Just over 100km of fast gravel and twisty tarmac will be mostly dry, so the drivers will be able to push really hard and try to get in the best position possible for the grand finale.
Roadbook an shakedown are already online.

Just 3 rallies to the end of this season of SLORBR. At the top of the leaderboards everything is still open, so all drivers are still in the fight for the 2011/12 slorbr crown. This is also the last rally with only gravel roads, so lots of sideways action to be expected. The weather has not been so good, so this time damp and wet roads will test the drivers from start to end.
As always shakedown rally is open for preparation. Roadbook (with the new stage Humalamäki) is online as well.
